A Northeastern Wisconsin Koinonia retreat will be held at OLS parish on May 3-5, 2024,(beginning the evening of Friday the 3rd).
A Koinonia Retreat is based on the Pascal Mystery and is an opportunity for individuals to encounter Jesus Christ through an experience of Christian Community fellowship and sharing. “This particular retreat is unlike any other! You will leave the weekend with much needed energy in our Catholic Faith!”
If you miss this opportunity because you think you will be “out-of-place”, dismiss those feelings because the program is such that no one will feel out of place. Once the program begins, all fear will be gone. Sit back, relax, and enjoy what our faith is all about!! Please consider attending!!
For more information and applications, contact Bluette Puchner at 612-865-4720

What a wonderful success for our “first” OLS Mass in the Park, held last Sunday, August 27th! Thanks to everyone who attended and stayed to socialize at our potluck picnic. The food brought by the PCCW ladies was fantastic! This was a joint effort of the OLS Parish Council of Catholic Women and the local Knights of Columbus, and it went off without a hitch! Help setting up and taking down was fast, efficient, and much appreciated!
Parishioners who brought a dish to pass were invited to sign up for a drawing for a beautiful fall tote bag, which was handcrafted by Diane Scott, a cluster member from Weyerhaeuser, and was donated anonymously as a way to say “thanks for all your hard work.” Tammy Moore of Ladysmith was the lucky winner.
The planning committee (Shirley Sorenson, Nancy Anderson, Marlene Tuma, Cindy Jansen, Jean Sanderson, Joe Baye, and Bob Lecheler) invite your comments and criticisms.

NOTICE FROM BISHOP POWERS
Regarding Scam Solicitations
If anyone contacts you through any form of communication (such as calls, texts, or emails) claiming to be me, someone from the Diocese (Chancery Office personnel), a priest, parish employee or anyone else honestly affiliated with the Catholic Diocese of Superior asking you to send money or get gift cards of any kind, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT RESPOND TO THEIR REQUEST. IT IS A SCAM.
ANYONE OFFICIALLY CONNECTED TO OR ACTING ON BEHALF OF THE DIOCESE OR ANY OF THE PARISHES OR ANY OTHER DIOCESAN SPONSORED ORGANIZATION WILL NOT CONTACT YOU IN THIS MANNER, BECAUSE IF THEY DID, IT WOULD BE GROUNDS FOR THEIR IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL.
For some time now these types of SCAMS have become more prevalent and more sophisticated in their making the request look real. LET ME REPEAT AGAIN, NO ONE OFFICIALLY CONNECTED TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THE DIOCESE OF SUPERIOR WILL EVER CONTACT YOU IN THIS MANNER TO EITHER ASK A FAVOR OR SOLICIT FUNDS.
NOTE: This does not say a parish can’t solicit gift cards to be used for raffle prizes etc. However, in this case the cards should be dropped off at the parish office.
